Mural Follow Up

After 3 long, grueling sessions, we finally finished painting the 30'x 5' mural I designed in the previous post! It would not have been done, had it not been for the small army of painters I had to help!

Some charitable werk...

Every year, on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, my church gets together at a high school or community center to clean it up, do some landscaping, and painting--including painting a mural. This year, we're doing our work at a Boys & Girls Club in Pasadena and I got a chance to design the mural. Here's my werk:

My Provensen Master Copy

I just started teaching another class at Laafa about STYLE, and today we looked at two of my favorite artists, Alice & Martin Provensen. I walked them through an hour-long demo, showing how I might try to replicate their style with Photoshop:

since i'm doin Star Trek stuff, i decided to take on "the Horta", a creature from one of my favorite episodes, "Devil in the Dark", as seen here:

and i was inspired by this microscopic image of a cancer cell:
